Stories

Padjal are horned beings blessed by the elementals.
Despite their youthful appearances, they live
staggeringly long lives. First-class mages, their
staffs are venerated throughout the woods.
This petrified-wood staff was made from a tree
frozen in time, stone not of earth, and a being
from the forest. The Padjal seek to better lives
with magic, which is why they loved the staff so.
Many expected the forest-dwelling Padjal to act as a bridge
between spirits and living. But the staff's last wielder left
to cleanse the outside world, thinking it
the best way to protect the woods.
When the man vanished, many said this was the fate
of all who abandoned the Padjal's purpose. But those
he saved on his journey knew the good he did—
and always with staff in hand and a spring in his step.step.
