the weight of his crime and the reality of his execution, he still
found himself tormented by the thought of death. And when
the week passed, he was still alive.

Though relieved, the man was haunted by the anxiety of not
knowing when his execution would be carried out. And as
another month passed, he was still alive.

The moment he reached his limit, he understood the meaning
behind the gun and shot himself on the spot. This was the
preferred death-penalty method, for it caused the least
distress to the actual executioners.
