Stories

I was alone at first. Of course I was.
I didn't want anything to do with people who
sought solace in the status quo or tradition or the past,
so I ran away and ended up alone.
I was living with some wolves in the snowy mountains
when an old friend arrived to see me. I knew she was
troubled by the same things I was, so I took her in.
Birds of a feather and all that, yeah?
As time went on, more and more people joined my pack.
Some even came in search of my teachings.
And while I was no sage, a wolf pack
needs an alpha, so I decided to lead them.
Sadly, my thinking never lined up with theirs.
They cheered my greatness and blindly followed in
my footsteps—which is exactly what
I loathed in the first place. Oh, the irony!
