One terribly stormy day, as fierce winds howled among thick
clouds, a young boy was struck by lightning. Though all feared
him dead, he was miraculously unharmed—and in fact,
the lightning awakened in him an ability to scry the future.

The boy's father immediately set out to turn a profit from
his son's power, and soon people swarmed from near and far in
search of his prophecies.

The boy understood how he was being exploited, and quickly
came to loathe both his father and those who sought his wisdom.
Eventually, a day came where he saw a vision of what would
befall his own town, but he kept it to himself.

The next day, a great storm swept through town and claimed
many lives—including the boy's father. And as he listened
intently to the nearby crashes of thunder, he thought to
himself, "I wish the lightning would strike someone."
