There was once a vile military unit called the Red Devils.
They were a terrifying bunch, made up of the most heinous
criminals in the world. Enticed by the thought of wanton murder,
they were abased to being mere tools for killing.

One member of the force was a warrior fascinated by battle.
The tension of intimate, close-up combat entranced him, so he
became a hand-to-hand fighter that he might get even greater
enjoyment from life.

A moment's hesitation would cost him his life, and only on that
knife's edge of death did he feel alive. So he spent his days in
the heat of battle—and yet, it was a boy his complete opposite who
brought about his eventual ruin.

It was a slaughter—nothing like the kind of battle the man enjoyed.
And yet, this end satisfied him. So overpowered he could not even
struggle, the feeling of death blotting out his world made him
feel more alive than ever before.
