There was once a vile military unit called the Red Devils.
They were a terrifying bunch, made up of the most heinous
criminals in the world. Their screams tore through the world
like a muddy stream, and people named that sin.

One member of the force was pathologically high-strung.
Once bothered, he could not stop until the offending item or
thought was purged. He chose the baton as his weapon
because he did not wish to be splashed with blood.

His first murder was committed because someone spoke to
him and their voice lingered in his mind in an irksome way.
After that, his sensitivity only grew, much like water backs up
behind a damn.

Someone coughed. Someone breathed. Someone touched
his hair. He killed for many reasons, and though he was highly
decorated within the force, he finally grew to find even
silence grating, and killed himself to end it.
