Where to Start

Blustery Grave IV has arrived, and it's all about putting your fire-affinity loadouts to the test. Before getting into it, here's a few general notes:

  • Blustery Grave is all about taking on wind-affinity enemies, so it's generally recommended to use fire-affinity weapons exclusively for the best damage output/damage resistance.
  • This is a high-difficulty event, and the quests within will not be forgiving to new players with limited resources. Be warned!
  • This event's quests do not require you to grind quests many times over in order to receive the most valuable rewards. Stamina isn't much of a concern.
  • As the name implies, this is the third appearance of this particular Abyss Tower; if you played the previous ones, you may see that you have already completed some of the earlier quests, and perhaps gained some of the rewards already.

Recommended Character Costumes

Below is a non-exhaustive list of recommended character costumes organized into a few different categories; this is meant to highlight ones that should provide easier paths to success across the quests you'll encounter, but many outside of this list will still see beneficial usage.

Wind Damage Resistance:

Frozen-Heart Automaton

As with all dark memory character costumes having an affinity-based damage reduction passive, each of Reborn Truant, Reborn Pillar, Reborn Swordmaster, and Reborn Monopolist have the Whirlwind Guard passive ability capable of negating up to 25% of recieved Wind damage. This can be invaluable to have in the later quests within Blustery Grave, especially for the handful of quest missions that require to “clear while each of your party member's HP is at least over 80%.”

  • It goes without saying that Reborn Truant (EX Lars) is known for his versatility in other areas of the game - his Execution character skill remains to be lethal against the toughest bosses, and that stands true against the many throughout this event.
  • Reborn Monopolist (EX Sarafa) is a newer entry that'll likely be the staple spear-user for this event. With a high-damage character skill, critical-hit damage and attacks buffs - not much to complain about.
  • Out of these, Reborn Swordmaster (EX Akeha) probably has the least useful character skill for this event - set aside its effectiveness against any early three-enemy waves. Still, her high attack and damage resistance is still well worth using.
  • Reborn Pillar (EX Marie) doesn't have quite as potent of a character skill compared to Lars, but the crit-rate party buff could come in handy.
  • Let's not forget Frozen-Heart Automaton - his high attack, high HP, and buff-stacking character skill make him a great option if you're looking for longevity as opposed to Celebratory Ruler's all-out DPS style from a gun-user.

Support:

Reborn Sorceress
Fractured Assassin
Bloodless Captive
Summer Hunter
Lacrima Captain

Support comes in many forms, whether its a healer, tank, or damage buffer; these few will likely do well depending on the enemy/boss combination at hand:

  • Despite having an off-affinity damage reduction passive for this event, Reborn Sorceress (EX Saryu) is still one of the best tank/healers in the game currently. The 40% HP party heal + 570% damage character skill efficiently outclasses Abstract Captive, and in a few situations can be surprisingly powerful if HP is maintained at 100% due to her Bold Vigor passive.
  • Not powerful by herself, but Fractured Assassin not only increases the party's attack, but also increase's the party's fire weapon stats; to top it off, her character skill simultaneously lowers enemy defenses and increases fire damage that the enemy receives (as two separate debuffs.)
  • Bloodless Captive doubles in usage with party stat buffs (increased party attack, increased party fire weapon stats, and a CS to increase party fire damage dealt), and provides a modest party heal (+20% HP.)
  • Another provider of multiple party buffs can be found in Summer Hunter with her fire weapon stat and critical hit damage party buffs along with a character skill further increase critical hit damage as well as attack.
  • What's become a classic general support now, there's still promise that shows with Lacrima Captain; multiple party attack buffs with some skill cooldown reduction work in conjunction with Griff's own self-increase to his equipped fire-affinity weapons.

General DPS:

Celebratory Ruler
Celebratory Monster.webp
Celebratory Monster
Summer Prisoner

The general amount of damage-dealers available essentially go unending, but there are a few recent costume additions that appear to excel specifically well for outputting fire damage:

  • Celebratory Ruler has already gained a reputation of dealing a “broken” amount of damage with her Glorious Circuit character skill alone, but her high attack stats along with a massive 100% increase to attack on equipped fire-affinity weapons pretty much makes her a staple for this event. Equip her with a few fire-affinity guns, and she's ready to go.
  • The new entry of Celebratory Monster is the newfound fire-fist staple: high attack, high crit-rate, super-high normal attack chain rate, and an low-maintenance/high-damage character skill allow Levania to wipe the floor with bosses quickly.
  • The last summer event brought in Summer Prisoner - effectively, an upgraded A2 with some additional fire-based perks. Along with his Lost Oar, which provides up to a 30% increase in fire damage, there's plenty to like here.

Recommended Weapons

Lots of choices for weapons, but here’s a few highlights that may help you out:

Pure Lotus (Dark Memory Weapon)
Blackhorn Atrocity.webp
Blackthorn Atrocity (Subjugation Weapon)
Mechanical Baton.webp
Mechanical Baton (Gacha)
Shiny Knuckles.webp
Shiny Knuckles (Gacha)
  • Akeha's dark memory weapon, once fully evolved, has incredible potential with stall-based loadouts - Pure Lotus comes with high attack stats, haste, fire-damage boosts, and a burn that can bring down bosses with ease.
  • Blackthorn Hate is the fire-affinity subjugation-reward weapon; you'll receive wind damage resistance/fire damage boon effects, fire-damage buffs for the party, and high attack stats. Highly recommended as a sub-weapon for any of those costumes that need a bit more defense against wind enemies.
  • For your support cast characters, Mechical Baton is currently the only fire-affinity weapon with the Mending ability; with those heals, and party buffs for defense, this will serve well to keeping your party alive.
  • The last entry here is something that some may fine a bit “cheesy”, but to each their own. Despite being a base 3-star weapon, Shiny Knuckles provides self-healing and burns that do wonders against bosses. Works well even on characters that aren't of the first-weapon preference.
